| Remembering Sue Coates
Sue moved all over the country growing up and learned to adapt to new situations regularly until eighth grade when her family finally settled in Texas. After marrying, Sue continued this vagabond status and moved to four other states before returning to her adopted home in Texas in 1972. By profession, Sue was a high school math teacher who also served on many boards and did extensive community service. She began sewing in the sixth grade with her sisters and spent her teenage summers making clothes since all three of them grew quickly to almost six feet!
She took early retirement in 1994 in order to have the time to devote to her love of quilting. She immediately became involved in her local quilt guild and served as Chairman of Special Projects, 1st Vice-President, and President.
Sue died tragically in an auto accident on October 4, 2007. She worked and
played with great enthusiasm and she is missed often. We invite you to:
