Fall into Quilting Adventures Jean Wells Keenan - Fall into Quilting 2008 instructor
Quilting Adventures - Hill Country Style fall seminar series
Each autumn we select a beautiful location that inspires our creativity and invite instructors we want to study with ourselves. Each class is limited to 20 additional students who want to share this same intimate and encouraging environment with top-notch instruction. For the past two years we have chosen the charming and historic Ye Kendall Inn in Boerne, Texas (www.yekendallinn.com) for this event, continuing our commitment to share the beautiful Texas Hill Country with you. We book a combination of period cabins and patio rooms, primarily doubles with a few singles, most on the ground floor, with modern conveniences and close to the classroom. Everyone enjoyed learning with the very talented and entertaining Jean Wells Keenan (above right) of Sisters, Oregon at our 2008 Fall into Quilting Adventures Seminar held September 7 - 10. (That's some of her beautiful class samples, pictured left.)

Jean led us in a study of lines in nature. She challenged us, laughed with us, and drove us each to expand our skills. We studied early and late, yet still found time to eat too many desserts and share a few glasses of wine. It is always a joy to participate as students and share the journey of these fall adventures! Here are a few pictures of this memorable seminar.

Typical Schedule for Fall into Quilting Adventures
During each Fall into Quilting Adventures session, classes start with a Sunday afternoon reception. Following dinner, class begins Sunday evening. Classroom instruction continues Monday, Tuesday, and again Wednesday until 3 pm. We typically have a 1/2 day break when everyone goes to Kerrville for fabric shopping at Creations and lunch. Students may sew late into the night Monday and Tuesday if they like.

Wednesday afternoon the instructor will take time to discuss each student's progress and make suggestions. Class concludes at 3 pm Wednesday afternoon, so we ask that students do not plan an earlier departure.

Our schedule is full and there is no planned free time included in the schedule to explore historic downtown Boerne and meander into the shops. If exploring Boerne interests you, we encourage you to plan it into your arrival and/or departure times.
