These newsletters are an opportunity to share something about ourselves, as well as the wonderful flavor of the Texas Hill Country. You'll find a wide number of topics with the hope that you will feel we are friends long before you arrive for one of the Quilting Adventures seminars. Wide ranging topics will include diverse travels, glorious and extremely brilliant grandkids, wonderful newly discovered haunts, paranoid pets, artistic endeavors, and whatever else crosses our minds.

Sue Spargo's Journey QuiltIt’s the month of May and on the Quilting Adventures calendar, that must mean that we are preparing for our “Fall Into Quilting Adventures”. This event happens each September and we look forward to it all summer.

So if you would like to join us in a small class with an instructor we have chosen to take ourselves, this is your opportunity. Sue Spargo will be our guest instructor and we will again host the class at Ye Kendall Inn in Boerne. Our start date this year is September 12. We will begin on Sunday afternoon with our traditional wine reception and end Wednesday afternoon with project critiques. Our habit at this event is to study hard, work late, eat very well, laugh often and provide much encouragement and support to one another. It is a joy-filled time.

For complete information, check our Fall Seminars page.

To register, print the fall registration form and mail it with a check in full. We take the first 20 students and return the remaining checks.

And… a moment just to catch up on our personal news.

Alice's quilt for Kate in progressThe grandbaby quilt that Alice was working on at the spring seminars is getting close! Kate will soon receive it as a gift and immediately give it back so that it may be entered in this fall’s Fredericksburg show. It is a very good thing that Kate is still too small to say “no” when Grandma has this little give and take conversation with her. Alice also has an article published in this month’s Threads magazine. Pick one up at the bookstore and take a look at the vest that is being featured.

Barbara is quilting her daughter’s queen size bed quilt, which has been sandwiched and ready to go under the needle since Thanksgiving. Is it terrible to admit this delay? But for the most part, Quilting Adventures has filled the time. All spring re-registrants and Shop Hop registrants are confirmed and have packets in hand for next spring. We have registered to vend at several guild shows. All our brochure mailings have gone out to past students, any prospects you have requested receive information, and all instructors. Whew!

Alice soon leaves with George for a train trip across Canada and Barbara will spend part of June at the Colorado cabin with John and guests. The goal is to come back refreshed and ready to jump back into Quilting Adventures with enthusiasm.

And how about a little news from our students?

Pat Corcoran and Ruth Felty win Fiesta Hats at their guildHere is a fun picture of regular QA attendees, Pat Corcoran (left) and Ruth Felty (right). They are posing in the Fiesta Hats that they won at the Kerrville Quilt Luncheon last week. The hats were table decorations that were given away at the end of the luncheon.

We know that we will see many of you next spring. We hope to see a number of you in this fall’s class with Sue Spargo. Until then, stay in touch. We love to hear from you!

We hope to see you at Quilting Adventures next March!
