Travel, Lodging and Meals
New Braunfels is conveniently located in central Texas on Interstate 35 approximately halfway between Austin and San Antonio. The closest airport is San Antonio International (30 miles), but Austin-Bergstrom (50 miles) is another option. You can find information for car rental agencies and other ground transportation options on the airport websites. Registered students will be sent detailed driving directions.
Plan your own travel arrangements and get here any way you prefer – plane, train or automobile. Once you are on campus, your tuition covers instructor fee, five nights lodging, all meals from Sunday dinner through lunch on Friday, beverages and snacks during classroom time, and access to recreational activities at the resort.
T Bar M is a peaceful 160 acre resort & conference center in New Braunfels. This exclusive resort is a well-known family vacation destination throughout Texas and their conference facilities are designed specifically for groups of 150-200 with 13,000 sq. feet of meeting room space. Quilting Adventures’ students are housed in the Country Inn and pictures of the nicely appointed, spacious rooms are available on T Bar M’s website.
We want our students to immerse themselves in quilting and having fun so, of course, your tuition includes all meals from Sunday evening’s dinner through lunch on Friday. Each meal is served buffet style so that those with dietary preferences or restrictions can always find a wonderful set of choices. Quilting Adventures also provides coffee, tea, water and fresh fruit for each classroom throughout the day. Guest rooms have refrigerators for students who want to bring their favorite beverages and snacks or for those who prefer specific brands.
If you want a break before, during or after quilting, on-grounds activities include: fitness room, swimming pool, hot tub, horseshoes, putting green, strolling the paths through 100-year-old oaks or grabbing some “porch time” in a rocking chair. Your seminar tuition includes access to all resort activities with the exception of tennis court rentals which are available for an additional fee.
Student Workspaces
Quilting Adventures provides a generous individual workspace for each student, including: 6′ x 2.5′ table, standard conference room chair, extension cord, and 5′ x 3.5′ foamcore design wall. You are welcome to bring Ott lights, magnifying glasses, office chairs, small side/sewing machine tables, or anything else that helps you be more comfortable and productive.
Classrooms are conveniently located near the Country Inn and will be open following our evening programs for students to sew as late as they would like. Resort staff is on duty around the clock and will lock classrooms when the last student leaves for the evening.
Special Activities & Onsite Store

Our seminars kick-off with Sunday’s “Evening on the Back Porch” and Texas barbeque dinner. Following dinner is our welcome program where you’ll learn a little about each instructor and get a peek at their work.

During the week each of our instructors give a retrospective of their work. You’ll hear what has inspired them, get glimpses into their personal lives, see pictures of their studios and examples of their work. Most of our instructors have authored books, developed quilting tools or designed fabric lines – you can count on book signings and opportunities to purchase their signature products. We also have drawings for gifts, the first announcement of our faculty for the next year, and a private shopping event at The Quilt Haus!
Shop with abandon at the convenient on-site store provided by The Quilt Haus, a popular local quilt shop specializing in fabrics, notions, original patterns and kits, and gifts for quilters & sewers alike. They will have supplies for our seminar classes and lots of other goodies to tempt you. Shipment of any purchases directly to your home is easily arranged.
